Presented By: Graham Sustainability Institute
Campus Sustainability Town Hall Meeting
This event is an opportunity for the campus community to learn about what happened over the summer and how the Campus Sustainability Integrated Assessment (IA) is progressing into the fall.
Attendees will hear from U-M leaders about the University's sustainability mission and how the next phase of the IA project will focus on five sustainability themes to support this mission – climate, human health, ecosystem health, materials footprint, and community awareness. In Phase 2, the seven analysis teams will lay the groundwork to support goals for each of these themes and continue the University on a path toward becoming a world leader in sustainability education, research, operations, and engagement.
At this October Town Hall event, participants will also have a chance to provide comments and ask the faculty heading the seven analysis teams about topics important to their daily life – like food, transportation, and the buildings they occupy. They'll also have the opportunity to ask about sustainability topics important for the campus including the cultural awareness, renewable energy plans, purchasing and recycling, and land and water use.
