Joseph Darden, professor at Michigan State University, will examine how and where the Detroit riots occurred in 1967, how Detroit's racial climate has changed since then and what the city has done to build bridges across racial divides.

This event is part of UM-Dearborn's College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters Detroit '67 series, which reflects on the 50th anniversary of the events that took place during the summer of 1967. This program is sponsored by African and African American Studies, with additional support from UM-Dearborn's bicentennial committee.
