Shozo OTA is currently a Professor in the Graduate Schools for Law and Politics at The University of Tokyo. He received his B.A. (1980) and M.A. (1982) in Law at The University of Tokyo and was employed there as a Research Associate from 1982-1984. Between 1984 and 1991, he served as an Associate Professor on the Faculty of Law at Nagoya University and returned to The University of Tokyo in 1991 as an Associate Professor. He became a full professor in 1997. He became the President of the Japan Association of Access to Justice in November 2016. His fields of interest include: Law & Society, Law & Economics, Law & Negotiation, Dispute Resolution, Civil Procedure, AI & Law. Welcome & Introduction: Dean Mark D.
