Ibram X. Kendi

The 2016 National Book Award for Nonfiction Winner and New York Times bestselling author Ibram X. Kendi joins the University of Michigan community to discuss the history of American racism. Kendi’s new book, Stamped from the Beginning, explains how looking deeper into the racist ideas entrenched in our society will enable us to develop a more equitable America. Dr. Kendi is an assistant professor of African American History at the University of Florida, and his writings have appeared in The New York Times, The Huffington Post, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Black Perspectives, and more.
A book signing will follow.
