Mr. Steve Curwood, executive producer of NPR's nationally syndicated Living on Earth program, will give a keynote talk as part of the AEESP 2017 conference (aeesp2017.com). An environmental journalist, he will discuss the role academics can and should play to engage in the public discourse around environmental issues, and not just in moments of crisis. He will discuss modes for effective communication with the media and public, especially in cases where the environmental issues that need to be addressed intersect with important and complex social issues.
