Marjorie Agosín has authored almost twenty books of poetry and memoir, most recently The Light of Desire / La Luz del Deseo, and Secrets in the Sand: The Young Women of Juárez. She was nominated for the Neustad Prize for World Literature in 2003 and 2005, and in 1998 she was honored by the United Nations for her human rights work.
