This study group will focus on the 90-minute film, “Poverty Inc.” which provides a look into the poverty fighting efforts of the last decades, primarily outside the U.S. It includes a look at the metrics to measure progress, with observations on what works and what does not work. It does not question the good intentions of those involved, but does take a serious look at progress and trends.

As time permits, other materials will also be consulted. This will be a discussion oriented class.

Instructor Leo Shedden will serve as discussion leader for this study group for those 50 and over which will meet for two hours on Tuesdays, November 14 and 28 and December 12.
