The Guide to Essential Italy – Florence
A Great Courses Event
Florence, Italy, the jewel of Tuscany: The Knowledge Seekers will travel to these places and embark on the Florentine streets to uncover the history of the city-state and savor the city’s master art works by Botticelli and DaVinci at the Galleria degli Uffizi, Rubens and Raphael at the Palazzo Pitti, and Michelangelo at the Accademia. Other noted sites on the tour will include the Duomo and Ghiberti’s golden baptistery doors.
Professor Kenneth Bartlett is the master teacher for this course, produced by the Great Courses in collaboration with the Smithsonian.
Richard Galant will serve as an on-site guide for this study group for those 50 and above which will meet for 90 minutes on select Mondays and Tuesdays; November 6, 20 and 27 and December 4, 18 and 19.
