This study group picks up the story of manned space flight where Part 1 left off. We will follow the exploits of Soviet Cosmonauts in their Vostok and Voskhod projects, and the Russian plans for a manned lunar landing.

We will also chronicle the American projects: Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo. We will set these pioneering space flights within the context of the turbulent decade of the 1960s.

This study group for those 50 and above will meet for two hours on Fridays from October 27 through December 8 (except on November 24), led by instructor Michael Kapetan who has nourished a lifelong passion for manned space travel.
