U.S. Grant’s Victorious Campaigns: Forts Henry & Donaldson, Vicksburg, and the Overland Campaign
Key Battles of the Civil War
This study group will focus on three of the most successful campaigns of General U.S. Grant.
First, the group will study the 1862 campaign which led to the surrenders of Forts Henry & Donaldson. Second, attention will be turned to the decisive 1863 campaign for Vicksburg. Finally, the group will learn about the 1864 Overland Campaign.
Instructor John Dietz will lead this study group for those 50 and above for 90 minute sessions on Mondays from November 6 through December 11. Mr. Dietz has been devoted to the study of the Civil War for over 30 years.
