CANCELLED Are Many Heads Better than One?: Curating with, not about, African Artists
presented by Pam McClusky (Curator of African and Oceanic Art, Seattle Art Museum)
Curators often collaborate with representatives from other cultures on research in preparation for exhibitions, but these partners usually fade into the background when the final curatorial interpretative work is undertaken. Based on several projects at the Seattle Art Museum, this presentation will consider what happens when a consultant takes an active role in the curation process.
