Monday, October 16th: Meet in the lobby of the Student Activities Building (515 E Jefferson Street) at 8:00am to leave for Chicago via charter bus.
Monday, October 16th: Visit United Airlines, Willis Tower 233 S Wacker Drive Chicago, IL 60606 1:00pm-4:00pm
- Tour United's Network Operations Center (NOC) which is their headquarters location in the iconic Willis Tower
- Meet with a wide varietyof folks on the recruiting team and members of the Finance leadership to learn about the applications process and what their finance roles look like on a typical day
- Students will partake in a case study to learn moreabout corporate finance from the standpoint of a dynamic and challenging industry
- United is home to many UM alumni- come learn about their internship positions in financial planning & analysis as well as their entry level associate analyst full-time roles
- United is full of employees who are passionate about travel and excited about the direction our company is moving, don't miss out on your chance to meet some of their awesome team members!
Monday, October 16th: UM Chicago Alumni networking event 6:00pm-8:00pm
- Meet with various members of the UM Chicago Alumni club to hear what it's like to work and live in the windy city!
Tuesday, October 17th: Visit Nielsen 9:00am-12:00pm
- Tour Nielsen's downtown location(which is currently being updated to become even bigger and better!)
- Meet with members of the recruiting team as well as various analysts to learn about their Finance Emerging Leaders Program
- Nielsen invests in their team- hear about their employees different finance rotational assignments, training and development, coaching, mentoring, and networking opportunities
- Learn about how Nielsen helps their clients (Walmart, Apple, Disney, etc.) analyze and understand their consumers behaviors that ultimately drive what people choose to buy
Tuesday, October 17th: One more company visit still TBD from 1:00pm-3:00pm!
Tuesday, October 17th:Leave Chicago at 3:00pm to be back in Ann Arbor by 9:00pm at the latest!
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This is a great opportunity for undergraduate students that are interested in learning about working finance in different industries. Students will get the opportunity to learn about what the day inthe life looks like in their financial roles, how to stand out during the application process, and make connections are major Chicago companies.
HOW TO APPLY:
Applications will close on Friday, September 29th, however, apply early! We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basisand if there is a large interest in the event the application may close early.
By applying for this Immersion, you are confirming your abilityto attend this event should you be selected. Students will be notified ifthey have been selected or have been placed on the waitlist by Monday, October 2nd. Students must be able to attend the full program in Chicago toparticipate. University Career Center staff will be along with you on theImmersion to guide you through the days, and more details will be provided to the selected participants. Transportation is provided for students via a bus to Chicago and students will be responsible for some meals & lodging. Students are advised to bring a copy of their updated resume to the event.
