Conducting business over a meal is a strategic way to get to know someone. For this reason, many organizations are making mealtime a part of their interview process. In this workshop, Keith Soster, Director of Student Engagement for Michigan Dining, will share how to exhibit proper dining etiquette in a business setting. Attendees of this workshop will enjoy a multiple course meal where they will have the opportunity to put what they are learning into practice. During this meal, Keith will demonstrate and provide advice on proper dining behaviors. Learn answers to some of the following questions - How should I introduce people at an event? What direction should food be passed at the table? Where do I place my napkin when briefly excusing myself during the meal? What are acceptable conversation topics? Is it okay to ask for a to-go box?

This is a College of Engineering event. Space is limited. Please register through the Events section of Engineering Careers if planning to attend. If you would like to request a vegetarian meal, please email ecrc-info@umich.edu prior to October 11 and let us know.

Please note - if you are no longer able to attend an event for which you have registered, notify the ECRC at ecrc-info@umich.edu at least 24 hours in advance so your spot may be given to another student. Please see the Job Search Code of Ethics (http://career.engin.umich.edu/CodeofEthics.pdf) for more information on the ECRC's event attendance policies.
