The Dispute Resolution Center seeks to build peaceful communities by offering affordable, constructive, restorative and healing approaches to conflict resolution. The center trains volunteer mediators who conduct mediation services for family, civil, and school–related disputes. It also provides facilitation services to help groups in conflict resolution and decision making. The center is working with Judge Timothy Connors, the presiding judge of the Peacemaking Court at the Washtenaw County Circuit Court, a court modeled on Native American tribal court traditions
