Paul Krugman is the keynote speaker for the Festschrift in honor of Alan Deardorff. He is an economist and prolific writer who divides his energies among many pursuits: he is professor of economics and international affairs at Princeton University, a centenary professor at the London School of Economics, and, perhaps, his best-known job, as an op-ed columnist for The New York Times.
Krugman was recently honored for his work on global trade patterns by winning the 2008 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences.
