Synthesize: Art & Technology
Synthesize: Art & Technology is collaboration between UMMA and the Ann Arbor Hand’s-On Museum that invites teens to explore the intersection between Art & Technology, and the different ways they can be used together to create the tangible, and the abstract.
Jennifer Friess, Assistant Curator of Photography, will lead a tour of Random International's LED-light and motion-sensing dynamic sculpture, Swarm Study / II, featured in UMMA's exhibition Victors for Art: Michigan's Alumni Collectors—Part II: Abstraction, followed by demonstrations and conversations with Lauro Ojeda, Assistant Research Scientist, Mechanical Engineering, Roland Graf, Associate Professor, School of Art & Design, Gus Schissler, Art & Design Major and Jule Schatz, Engineering Major, Art & Design Minor.
Synthesize: Art & Technology is designed for teens, but everyone is welcome to attend.
Lead support for Victors for Art: Michigan's Alumni Collectors is provided by the University of Michigan Office of the Provost, Michigan Medicine, the University of Michigan Office of the President, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts, and the University of Michigan Bicentennial Office.
