In conjunction with the 2018 U-M MLK Symposium, whose theme is The Fierce Urgency of Now, the North Campus MLK Symposium Committee presents "Everyday Activism", an exhibition to be held in the Duderstadt Center Gallery from January 8-19, 2018.

Merriam-Webster defines activism as “…a direct action especially in support of or opposition to one side of a controversial issue.” What does “everyday activism” mean to you? This year we have seen numerous campus events, marches, wearables, and more in support of various causes. Have you taken action this year? Share it with us.

Bring your photos, drawings, comics, posters, video, poetry or short stories, memorabilia (signs, hats, t-shirt you wore to…) to the Duderstadt Center Gallery from Sunday, January 7, through Wednesday, January 10, from 1-5 p.m.

Opening Reception: Wednesday, Jan 10 from 4-6 p.m. Join us for refreshments, an open discussion responding to the exhibition, and mingling with fellow activists. All viewpoints welcome.

EXHIBITION DATES: January 8-19, 2018
ARTWORK DROP-OFF: Duderstadt Center Gallery (address above) beginning Sunday, January 7, and continuing daily from 1-5:00 p.m. through Wednesday, January 10.
ARTWORK PICK-UP: Friday, January 19, after the closing reception.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all students, faculty, staff and community members.
EMAIL: everyday-activism@umich.edu for additional information and questions.

We will attempt to accommodate all the submissions received, but space may limit our options.
