Juan Luis Tienda Banquet
Presented by the Latino Law Students Association
The banquet celebrates the legacy of Juan Luis Tienda, an inspirational Michigan Latino law student, who died in a car accident before his final year of law school. Juan Luis was not only an aspiring legal scholar, but also a tireless advocate for the rights of migrant workers and a rising leader in the Latino community. He volunteered with prison inmates, provided legal assistance to agricultural workers, and sought to increase Latino student and faculty representation at Michigan Law. The Juan Luis Tienda Scholarship Banquet honors outstanding law students who have demonstrated commitment to working in underserved Latino communities.
Cost
