Guitarist Jesse Cook has called some of his music Rumba Flamenco, but it goes beyond that! Born in Paris to Canadian parents, he grew up in France and Spain, studied with masters of flamenco, and played with the Gipsy Kings when he was 19. "That's when I got hooked on that percussive way of playing the guitar," he says. Constantly open to new sounds, hes incorporated Caribbean, Brazilian, jazz, Middle Eastern, and electronic elements into his style, and his live shows are especially known for their creative experimentation. With several albums that have taken up long-term residence in the top 10 of Billboard's world music chart, Jesse Cook plays concerts that are essential stops for anyone interested in the possibilities of the guitar. Jesse comes to Michigan with a new release, "Beyond Borders."
