The Printing of the King James Bible

Learn about the printing of the King James Bible from Pablo Alvarez, Curator and Outreach Librarian, U-M Special Collections Library. Alvarez will describe how the manuscript of the KJB was put into print in the first and second editions published by Robert Barker in 1611. To what extent did the printers change the original meaning of the translators? Overall, the lecture will serve as a window into printing culture in seventeenth-century England.

This is the second in a series of lectures intended to complement the annual Bible Exhibit, on display in the Hatcher Library Audubon Room, which this year celebrates 400 years of the King James Bible.
