KidZone TentDive into the Michigan Light Project for an exploration of light! Zoom in on the microscopic universe around you, capture a 3-D hologram, or take home an LED energy harvester. Join us to celebrate the importance of light and optical technologies in our lives, for our futures, and for the development of society as part of the U.N. sponsored International Day of Light. The Michigan Light Project is a group of academics, industrialists, and artists who want to demonstrate the amazing aspects of light in society as well as promote awareness that the State of Michigan is a worldwide hub of light-related industry, culture, and art.An interactive area for our youngest festival-goers, the KidZone tent provides a fun and safe area for children and their parents to discover and explore a wide variety of hands-on activities with different community partners. From learning karate, creating homemade instruments, or meeting prehistoric critters, KidZone offers different nightly activities for families at Top of the Park.Led by community partners, all sessions are free, and take place from 5 to 8 pm every Tuesday through Sunday at the KidZone tent at Top of the Park.
