Michigan Humanities Council PhD Immersion

Spend a day in Lansing visiting the Michigan Humanities Council to learn about roles for PhD's!

On Friday, July 13th, the University Career Center will be bringing a group of 20 PhD students to visit the Michigan Humanities Council in Lansing, MI. During this Immersion, PhD students will meet with their different team members, learn about various roles including grant review and awards, event planning, and more, and put their skills to practice in a strategic planning exercise. This is a great opportunity for students wanting to learn about what it's like to work at a local non-profit organization!

Agenda for the day:
- 8:30am: students meet at the Student Activities Building & take a bus to Lansing
-10:00am: Immersion visit with the Michigan Humanities Council begins
- 2:00pm: Immersion visit ends & bus takes students back to Ann Arbor
- 3:00pm: Immersion concludes & students are dropped off at the Student Activities Building

Applications will open on Monday, June 18th and close on Friday, June 29th. Priority will be given to students that submit their application early. Don' wait- slots fill quickly & the application may close early! Please note that by applying to this Immersion you are agreeing to attend should you be selected.

By applying for this Immersion, you are confirming your ability to attend this event should you be selected. Students will be notified if they have been selected or have been placed on the waitlist by Friday, June 29th. Students must be able to attend the full program in Lansing to participate. University Career Center staff will be along with you on the Immersion to guide you during the visit, and more details will be provided to the selected participants. Transportation and lunch is provided. Students are advised to bring a copy of their resume on the visit.
