Once a year, Mark "Mr. B" Braun, Ann Arbor's own wizard of blues and boogie piano music, comes together with other top piano players from around southeastern Michigan and beyond. Call it a piano summit, or perhaps a meeting of the minds! There are two great shows, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. This year's special guests include Detroit boogie titan Bob Seeley, whose duo act with Mr. B himself is really something to see. New participants in Mr. B's celebration this year include the sensational Philadelphia-born jazz pianist Eric Reed, whose new album, Stand!, links his early experiences with church music to present-day life, and the young sensation Stephanie Trick, whom Mark Borowsky of the James P. Johnson Foundation has called "the next rising star in the stride world."
