PERSONAL STORIES OF NORTH KOREAN ESCAPEES

Ms. Mi retired from Pfizer, and is currently the COO of miCore, Commissioner of Michigan Asian Pacific America Affairs Commission, Executive Director of the Korean American Cultural Center of Michigan, serves on the Board of Directors of Henry Ford Hospital/West Bloomfield, and the Board of Directors of the American Citizens for Justice. As a Korean-American, she is fluent in the Korean language and has been in attendance at escapee presentations and has had the opportunity to discuss their experiences with them.

Ms. Mi Dong will serve as moderator as we view four short video’s: An overview produced by the UN beginning with the division of the peninsula after WWII plus testimonials from three escapees as presented in TED Talks or YouTube settings. Ms. Mi Dong will provide added context and guide the Q/A discussion.

This is the third of a six-lecture series. The subject is The Koreas – More Than You Know. The next lecture series starts October 25th and runs through December 6th. The subject is Immigration.

Cost
