The Art Film
A Changing World Created Changed Films
We will screen and discuss some significant international films from the mid-twentieth century that were in part a reaction to the recent world war and also an endeavor to transcend Hollywood’s traditional filmmaking. These films are sometimes called “art films” because of their stylistic innovations and the humanism that fills their images and narratives.
