Managing Chronic Disease: Community & Population-Level Approaches

Public Health Grand Rounds

This Public Health Grand Rounds will look at chronic disease prevention and management through the lens of public health and community-based health care. Effective public health practice models, interdisciplinary approaches to managing chronic disease in community settings and the Affordable Care Act will be discussed.

Our keynote speaker is Dr. Bobbie Berkowitz, Dean and Mary O’Neil Mundinger Professor of Nursing at Columbia University School of Nursing and Senior Vice President of the Columbia University Medical Center. Following her presentation, a distinguished panel will expand on the topic and offer perspectives from academic, public health practice and research. Both on-site and live webcast audiences are invited to take part in the Q&A.

Pre-registration required at https://practice.sph.umich.edu/mphtc/site.php?module=courses. The event is free. CE credit is available. This event is sponsored by the Michigan Public Health Training Center and the Office of Public Health Practice at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. The University of Michigan School of Nursing is a co-sponsor.
