Create beautiful and realistic botanical drawings with the versatile medium of colored pencil under the instruction of artist and illustrator Deborah Kopka. Students will work from live plant specimens and explore techniques such as blending and burnishing to accurately render colors and texture. Each session includes demonstration and practice in drawing botanicals. Some experience in drawing botanicals is helpful, but beginning artists welcome and encouraged to attend. A materials list will be sent after registration. Six-session class is held Saturdays beginning March 12 through April 16.

Cost

  • U-M students and Matthaei-Nichols members: $172; nonmembers $216
