Arwulvian Lecture no. 2
Freeform as a way of life: The arwulvian theory of radio & why WCBN-FM matters
WCBN 88.3 FM Ann Arbor presents arwulf arwulf and motley musicians as they continue the Arwulvian Lecture Series with its second event. On Thursday, March 24 at 7 p.m. in the Kerrytown Concert House, WCBN wraps up its annual fundraiser with arwulf’s meditation on (broadly) the art of radio, (specifically) freedom as a creative discipline in alternative broadcasting, and (importantly) why WCBN matters. Accompanying arwulf will be a group of student musicians known collectively as the Modified Modified Starch All-Stars.
The event will be broadcast live from the Kerrytown Concert House on 88.3 FM in Ann Arbor and on WCBN’s web stream at wcbn.org as a special installment of arwulf’s weekly radio show, “Face the Music”. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for a special musical prelude. You can tune in from home, though you are encouraged to make noise on the radio by attending the event in person. It is suggested that you arrive early–the first Arwulvian Lecture packed the UMMA Commons to capacity. Guests are invited to stay after the performance to enjoy refreshments.
For additional information, visit wcbn.org and WCBN’s Facebook page. Access the radio waves via 88.3 FM or stream the programs online at wcbn.org
