This workshop will focus on the relationship between art and activism. It will explore through facilitated discussion the role of the artist in terms of a political instrument, how art and politics intersect and overlap, and to what scale a piece of art, more specifically a poem, becomes a political act. We will investigate political movements, from social issues to literary revolutions, and write our own songs of protest from these discussions.
