The Ragbirds are a five-piece Michigan band with an irresistible global groove. The 'Birds are led by fiery frontwoman and songwriter Erin Zindle, who switches among violin, mandolin, banjo, accordion, and percussion, in addition to singing lead vocals (all while dancing up a storm). Their musical roots are firmly embedded in the soils of rhythm ancient and new, incorporating Americana, Gypsy, Celtic, and Latin influences on top of drum sounds from all over the world. The rich rhythmic layers of the Ragbirds' music mix African polyrhythms, Afro-Cuban tumbao, and rock, hip-hop, and reggae-style drumkits are all designed to get people listening and to get their creative juices flowing! The 'Birds are working on new music, and you can also pick up a copy of Erin Zindle's new solo release, "Scenes from the Fragile, Agile, Avian World."
