Academic Freedom at a Global University: A Transnational Perspective
What is academic freedom? Is it relevant in this day and age? What does it mean at a global institution like the University of Michigan? How does the internationalization of higher education effect it? What does it mean to those who hail from abroad? Does academic freedom globalize? How do scholars and students who move across the world attend to its intricacies, obligations, and limitations? These are some of the questions that we will attempt to answer as part of our conversation. Please join us! The public is welcome! Lunch will be served.Speakers:
