Art & Design Immersion to Detroit
APPLICATIONS OPEN ON MONDAY, MARCH 4TH AND CLOSES ON TUESDAY, MARCH 19TH!
On Friday, March 22nd, the University Career Center inpartnership with the School of Art & Design will be taking 20 students tospend a day in Detroit visiting One Custom City/Talking Dolls and the Donut Shop! During these visits, students will get to check out the work space at each organization & see what it's like to have your own studio space. Students will engage with the U-M alumni that started these organizations and learn what it is like to be a freelance designer, how to price out your work, how U-M prepared them, and more! This is a great opportunity to learn more about how to design on your own if that is a career path youare interested in. This visit is open to all undergraduate students at U-M!

8:45AM - Students meet at the Student Activities Building & take a bus sponsored by the University Career Center to Detroit
10:00AM - Visit One Custom City/Talking Dolls
12:00PM - Lunch @ Jimmy John's sponsored by the School of Art & Design
1:00PM - Visit the Donut Shop
4:30PM - Arrive back in Ann Arbor

*This application will open on Monday, March 4th and will close on Tuesday, March 19th - please click 'RSVP FOR EVENT' to fill out your application if you are certain you would be available to attend. We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis and ifthere is a large interest in the event and we receive a large number of applications early on, this application may close early. Students must be able to attend the full program to participate. University Career Center &Art and Design staff will be along with you on the Immersion to guide youthrough the day, and more details will be provided to the selected participants. Dress for this event is business casual.
If you are no longerable to attend this Immersion, you must notify us via email at uccemp@umich.edu by Tuesday, March 19th. If you do not formally cancel by then, you will receive a cancellation penalty.
