Christopher James Lees, conductor. The University Philharmonia Orchestra begins the year with music connected with drama on stage, be it inspired by poetic, operatic, or balletic genres. Traversing diverse sonic landscapes of German, American, French, & Russian origin, this program juxtaposes music of grand gesture, contemplative thought, nuanced color, and dramatic fiery passion, respectively.
