Hamilton is one of the most celebrated drummers in modern jazz. He has worked with such jazz giants as Ray Brown, Oscar Peterson, Woody Herman, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Monty Alexander, Diana Krall, and John Clayton, the other half of the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra. The current Jeff Hamilton Trio has been together since 2000. It includes Tamir Hendelman, a native of Tel Aviv, Israel, on piano, and Christoph Luty of Stuttgart, Germany, on bass.
