The Inevitable and the Invisible: Stories of Race and Class in Two New York Museums, 1968-2008
The speaker will discuss aspects of her dissertation which investigates two house museums: the Lower East Side Tenement Museum in Manhattan and the Weeksville Heritage Center in Brooklyn. She will discuss the disparity between the stories that the museums tell and the truth that they obscure.
