We're organizing a birdwatching event for the department and you're invited. Sandhill cranes gather this time of year before their southward migration, and the Haehnle bird sanctuary is a great place to see them. There should be plenty of other bird species as well. The sanctuary is about 40min west of Ann Arbor.

We're looking for drivers with personal vehicles to help with carpooling. For those participating in carpooling, let's meet at Palmer Drive (the drive outside the Palmer parking structure) by the 2nd entrance on Sunday, November 3, at 3:00pm*. Vehicles will leave at 3:15 pm sharp. If you aren't carpooling, you can meet us directly at the sanctuary at ~4:00pm. The best time to see cranes is just before dusk, and sunset is at 5:24 PM that evening. We should be back in Ann Arbor by 6:30 or 7:00 pm, if not earlier.

*The Palmer parking structure has visitor parking and blue pass parking.

Please RSVP by 5pm on Thursday, October 31 to let us know you'd like to come and if you need a ride. RSVP by answering the survey at this link: https://forms.gle/dCsCzuU2TwWeTjDZ9

Bring binoculars, your families / significant others, and weather-appropriate clothing.

Hope to see you there! Don't forget to RSVP,
EEB Social Committee
