Dean Kamen is an inventor, entrepreneur and a tireless advocate for science and technology. In 1982 he founded DEKA Research & Development to focus on innovations aimed to improve lives around the world. Under his leadership, DEKA teams have developed a wide range of products such as the LUKE advanced prosthetic arm, Hydroflex™ surgical irrigation pump, the iBOT™ Mobility System, and the Segway® Human Transporter. In 1989, Dean founded FIRST® an organization that is dedicated to motivating the next generation to understand, use and enjoy science and technology.
At DEKA there is no such thing as “too big of an idea”. It’s a place where one spark, one idea, can turn out to be the next greatest invention and where creativity and crazy cool gizmos reign supreme.
