Lonesome County & Goldmine Pickers

Tonight's show brings traditional bluegrass from Lonesome County (that's Livingston County, y'all). Guitar legend Dan Crary has called Lonesome County one of the top 20 bluegrass bands in the U.S., and they're defined by exciting arrangements, soaring vocals, and national-class instrumental virtuosity. Come check out the band that's putting Michigan bluegrass not just on the map but all over it! Lonesome County has been gaining traction–their music was recently featured by Nick Spitzer on the NPR program American Routes, and they've appeared on Fox and Friends, Fox entertainment, ABC's What's the Buzz, and many RFD television shows. They're joined tonight by Indiana's Goldmine Pickers, who have been brewing a fresh blend of acoustic music for audiences in the U.S. and Europe since 2003. Reviewers and concert-goers alike have reached for culinary terms to describe the music of this four-piece Indiana ensemble, including, "fresh,", "tasty," "choice ingredients," "savory," and "a pleasing, hearty stew." Described as having a "timeless approach yet a style that is uniquely their own," the band effortlessly serves up a rich, fun blend of bluegrass, folk, and Irish music–with dashes of country, jazz, and jam band music for good measure.
