The University of Michigan Comprehensive Diabetes Center is hosting our 5th Annual World Diabetes Day Health Fair on Saturday, November 19, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Ann Arbor Hotel, 3200 Boardwalk (across State Street from Briarwood Mall, off I-94 exit 177). FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!
Visitors to our Diabetes Health Fair can get free health screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, and A1C blood sugar; free urine screenings for kidney disease; free assessments of obesity risk and BMI calculation; and -- NEW this year -- free foot screenings for people with diabetes!!
In addition, the latest information on diabetes prevention and treatment will be offered by UMHS staff, along with exhibits on diabetes medical supplies and medications. There will also be giveaways and the chance to win door prizes. Diabetes presentations will take place at 9:00 am, 10:00 am, and 11:00 am.
