The Hub Presents: Exploring Virtual Internships in Summer 2020
“My summer internship has been canceled as a result of COVID-19 -- what now?”
While some in-person internships are paused or canceled, there’s been a rise in the number of virtual internships provided by employers. A virtual internship is like an in-person internship, except that it’s done entirely online. Students gain valuable experience while working remotely, rather than being physically present within a “typical” office setting.
This workshop will equip you with must-have information, guidance, and resources about virtual internships and include insights on: where to find them, how to work with your employer to potentially convert an in-person internship into a virtual format, and how to prepare for remote work.
You should attend this workshop if you are:
- A liberal arts and/or sciences (LSA) student
- Searching for internship opportunities this summer (2020)
- Hoping to transition an existing in-person internship offer into a virtual internship
- Looking to understand best practices for working remotely
What you’ll gain by attending:
- Uncover the nature of virtual internships and how they work
- Explore strategies for pitching a new virtual internship to a potential employer
- Learn how you can work with your employer to convert an in-person internship into a virtual format
- Discover the virtual internship opportunities offered through the Hub and through other organizations, programs, and job boards
- Get tips and best practices for how to prepare yourself (and your space) for remote work
RSVP now to save your spot. By signing up, you will receive an email with details on how to join this virtual workshop.
Please note that due to technological restrictions, there is a limit of 200 RSVPs. If the capacity has been reached, you can join the waitlist to receive the event materials and the recorded session after the event is held.
