Alaska - An Adventure of a Teacher's Lifetime!
Attend this event to learn about living and working in Southwestern Alaska for Lower Kuskokwim School District (LKSD) with our "family" of long-term educators .
LKSD is a rewarding place to teach in "bush" Alaska. There are 27 schools, 350 teachers and about 4,000 Yup'ik students. Travel is by jet from Anchorage to Bethel and then by small planes, snowmobiles or boats from Bethel to your home village.
Instructional coaches/mentors are assigned to new teachers to support orientation to the local culture and school curriculum. In addition, there is a robust professional development program for all staff.
