This veteran California songwriter was an Ark favorite as one-half of the duo Lowen & Navarro. But he was creatively silent for eight years after Lowen's death in 2012. First cousin of Dave Navarro of Jane's Addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dan recently reemerged with Shed My Skin, which No Depression called "a hauntingly beautiful album that evokes poignant regret, elusive identity, ambivalent passion, and palpable longing."
