Meet LSA alum, Andrea Joyce, and hear about her trailblazing career in the sports broadcasting industry as one of the first women to report on sports on the national stage. Learn about her professional experience covering sports around the world including 14 Olympic events, World Figure Skating, Gymnastics championships, the US and French Open tennis tournaments, as well as her consistent coverage of the NFL, MLB, and NBA. Hear how she started her career in local television and broke through glass ceilings to land sports broadcasting jobs at ESPN, CBS, and now NBC. As a 1976 graduate in Speech Communication, Andrea will also share how her experiences as an LSA undergrad at Michigan have impacted her professional development and will offer her advice for students interested in a sports broadcasting career.
