From Oct 14 to Oct 21, U-M students will have the opportunityto test their social media marketing skills with AstraZeneca, a global biopharmaceutical company whose innovative medicines are used by millions of patients worldwide. AstraZeneca is rated among the top 15 global pharmaceutical companies and one of the 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the world. And did you know? U-M is partnering with AstraZeneca to conduct a clinical trial to test a COVID-19 vaccine. (https://record.umich.edu/articles/u-m-to-conduct-clinical-trial-to-test-covid-19-vaccine/)

AstraZenecawants students to design a social media marketing campaign that will drive new researchers and scientists from around the world to the company’s innovation website for sharing resources and crowd-sourcing ideas, all designed to enhance collaboration & results for the company and its collaborators.

Here's how Employer Challenges work:

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14 @ 3:00-4:00 pm Eastern
- AstraZeneca reps will share information and provide background information on the Employer Challenge viaZoom call.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14 - WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21 (during theweek on your own time)
- Student teams will develop a 5-minute presentation that addresses AstraZeneca's challenge. Student teams should adhere toall U-M safety precautions and campus guidelines while working on this team project.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21 (time slots will be scheduled between 12:00 Noon-3:00 pm Eastern)
- Student teams will give their 5-minute presentation to the AstraZeneca reps via Zoom.
- Teams will respond to questions from the AstraZeneca reps and receive feedback on the content of their presentation, creativity, and overall presentation skills, from the AstraZeneca reps.
- Resumes of participating students will be forwarded to the AstraZeneca team .

THE FOLLOWING WEEK

Students will sign up as a team of 2-4 students. You are responsible for applying on behalf of your team that you've created on your own. All participants must be U-M Ann Arbor undergraduate students. Only oneapplication is required per group. Student teams should adhere to all U-Msafety precautions and campus guidelines when working together on this Employer Challenge.

At least one member from each team MUST participate in the case study overview via Zoom on Wednesday, October 14 from 3:00-4:00 pm Eastern. If a member from your team is not able to participate in that Zoom call, your team cannot participate in this Employer Challenge.

All team members MUST be available to present their case sometime between 12:00 Noon - 3:00 pm Eastern on Wednesday, October 21. Each team will sign up for a 20-minute time slot in that window for their presentation/feedback. It is theresponsibility of the team to work together on this project during their own time. Please adhere to all U-M safety precautions and campus guidelines as you work together on this Employer Challenge.

This application will close on Sunday, October 11th at 11:59 pm. However, we encourage you to apply ASAP as this application may close early if many applications are received and we will be accepting teams on a rolling basis.

Students must apply and be accepted for this opportunity in order to participate. Youwill be notified if your team is selected to participate by Monday, October 12th. If you have any questions, please email uccexp@umich.edu.
