Film Synopsis:
Although stories of extreme poverty may seem astonishingly foreign to us, approximately 20,000 people worldwide die every day succumbing to poverty. This film, based on Gui Zhou, China, provides us with a different perspective on the ever-popular concept of 'the endless cycle of poverty'.

This film has a very simple message at its core: poverty should not be feared, but rather overcome through determination and faith in one's actions. Here, in Gui Zhou, children attend school to pursue their dreams; here, parents keep faith in hopes of building a home and a family; here, young adults fantasize of wonders beyond the horizon, awaiting for the day to come when they break free of the vicious cycle that is poverty.

Surviving under these harsh circumstances, where a new dawn is considered an achievement, all the people of Gui Zhou share a common motivation: to experience a brighter future.
