Have you ever wondered what career opportunities exist for engineers and scientists outside of academia for MS and PhD holders? There are many - in fact, a career as a technical research scientist offer many of the same flexible work opportunities, tons of autonomy, and the chance to become a recognized industry expert. In this workshop, a recent engineering Ph.D. graduate will share how he made the choice between starting his career in industry or academia, what he looked for in a company, and thoughts on how to successfully transition from graduate school to corporate research.
