Zell Visiting Writers Series: D. A. Powell Janey Lack Poetry Reading
D. A. Powell's books include Cocktails and Chronic, both of which were finalists for the Publishing Triangle and National Book Critics Circle Awards. Powell’s honors include the Gold Medal in Poetry from the California Commonwealth Club and the Kingsley Tufts Prize in Poetry, as well as fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
A former Briggs-Copeland Lecturer in Poetry at Harvard University, Powell has taught at Columbia University, University of Iowa’s Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and Davidson College. He lives in San Francisco.
