2021 Commercial Bank Advancing Black Pathways Early Insight Program

To achieve this, we’ve designed the Commercial Bank Advancing Black Pathways Early Insight Program for studentswho self -identify as Black to learn more about our Commercial Banking businesses, specifically Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries, and our culture. You’ll get to experience into what it's like to work at a leading global financial services firm.

What is Commercial Banking?

J.P. Morgan’s Commercial Banking businesses deliver extensive industryknowledge, local expertise and dedicated service to U.S. and Canadian clients, including corporations, municipalities, financial institutions and non-profit entities with annual revenue ranging from $20 million to more than $2 billion. We also provide financing to real estate investors and owners.

What is Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries?

While the Commercial Bank has multiple lines of businesses, this conference is specifically tailored towards the Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries group. The Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries (MMBSI) group at J.P. Morgan focuses on companies with annual revenue of $20 million to $500 million, as well as municipalities, and not-for-profit entities requiring both traditional banking services (lending and cash management), as well as investment banking products (including debt and equity capital markets, risk management derivatives, and corporate finance advisory).


What to expect from the Commercial Bank Advancing Black Pathways Early Insight Program:

We’ll kick off the program with a virtual two-day conference that’ll deliver mentoring, education, and networking opportunities with senior leaders and individual across the Commercial Bank! Over the course of the two-days, we’ll provide you with all the information you need to succeed and help you determine if Commercial Banking is the right fit for you.

Two-Day 2021 Virtual Conference Dates:

Day 1: Thursday, January 21st

Day 2: Friday, January 22nd



The week following the Commercial Bank Advancing Black Pathways conference, participants will have the opportunity to interview for our 2021 Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries internship in locations listed below. Successful candidates that receive an internship offer will be eligible to receive a financial award.

A successful summer internship experience at J.P. Morgan can serve as a platform for a full-time analyst position at the firm following graduation. We are currently offering 2021 Summer Analyst internship opportunities within Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries in the following locations.

Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries - The MMBSI Summer Analyst program will provide you with foundational skills in client management, credit structuring and product sales. You will work alongside seasoned professionals, building relationships and providing clients with access to our world-class banking solutions.
Open to Juniors (expected graduation date Dec 2021-June 2022)

Who we areseeking:
If you're highly motivated and enjoy working in teams to come up with innovative solutions, this is the role for you. We welcome applicants from all majors who demonstrate the following:

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to thrive in a collaborative work environment
An interest in financial services
Strong initiative, energy and confidence
Coursework in finance, accounting or economics is a plus
Authorization to work permanently in the U.S.
Graduating December 2021 – June 2022
Preferred GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
