The U-M Center for Organogenesis unites scientists from many fields who work together to study organ growth, function and disease. The goal of these studies is to use what is learned to design new and effective ways to treat disease and repair damaged organs. In the course of this work, scientists use the microscope and special stains or “colors” to look at tissues for changes that could affect our health. These tiny biological structures that are studied are often beautiful and present a fascinating combination of art and science.
