Our Mission

The University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts Student Honor Council was founded in 2004 and is composed of a group of undergraduates dedicated to promoting a culture of integrity in the academic community. The LSA Student Honor Council works with students, faculty, and staff to facilitate an understanding of the policies of LSA. The primary purpose of the Student Honor Council is to educate members of the LSA community about the importance of honorable behavior in the context of academic scholarship.

​What We Do

The LSA Student Honor Council is committed to addressing the importance of integrity at the University of Michigan. We put on a speaker event related to integrity annually. We present to student groups and faculty. We also work closely with the Dean of Student Academic Affairs in addressing situations of alleged student academic misconduct. Our goals are achieved through:

• Providing a student voice at hearings for students alleged for academic misconduct
• Presenting seminars about academic integrity to students, faculty, campus leadership, etc.
​• Discussing ethics and integrity at meetings
• Collaborating with academic leadership about LSA policies and initiatives
• Hosting an annual speaker event
